The Days: Luke 17:22-32 January 9, 2008

And as it was in the days of Noah,so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man." Luke 17:26

"Also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat; they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;" Luke 17:28 

    The Son of man. It's been over 2000 years or around 722,880 days of the Son of man.  We are surely eating and drinking. We are a rich nation.  A lot of the world is rich.  

Watching Wall Street, especially around the Christmas holidays; we are surely buying and selling.  Housing and city developments are springing up everywhere.  And to see a tree or two in a city; even in some suburbs are rare.  You have to go outside of your neighborhood to enjoy nature.  But who has the time?  Most of these two verses started roughly around sixty-years-ago.  But Luke 17:22 says, "...the days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it."  Jesus was speaking to the Pharisees (Luke 17:20), they wanted to know when the kingdom of God should come.   

    This morning I was just praying that Jesus would come; desiring for that "The Day" would come, as so many of us pray.  My answer back from Him was, would you want to live in a house without half of its roof? No, I thought.  Not everyone that will be appointed to go to heaven on "The Day" is ready yet.  Be patient  was my answer.  Jesus will come when His house is finished.  It is becoming like the days of Noah, we are eating and drinking; thinking nothing of God on a daily basis. And boy do we marry wives!  Divorcing and remarriage is rampant. I don't know if there was homosexuality in Noah's day, but it was rampant in Lot's day. I believe in Noah's day they had self worship, demon worship with demon possession. In Genesis 6:5,  it says, "God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually".In Genesis 4:16-24, the meaning of  the names of Cain's genealogy show how wicked man had become.  Their names represent the world today.  In the Strong's Concordance Dictionary the meaning of Enoch, Cain's first born, means to teach.  That's not bad,  but the number 2585 in the Hebrew of the concordance says, to choke oneself to death (by a rope), hang self, strangle,  initiate, throttle.  What else did Cain's offspring teach?  Irad, Enoch's son's name means to sequester itself, (from God).  Mechujael's name means, smitten,  erase,  to abolish, blot out, destroy, utterly wipe away, (by God), smitten of God. Methushael's name means, man who (is) of God, or men who are of God.  An adult, men, to extend; extend of time, long, when? Lamech"s name is under the number 3929, in the Greek, 3982, means why, how, slave, captive. Lamech's wife Adah's name means ornament, like a Christmas ornament; to bedeck, deck to advance, to continue, pass on, adorn, to remove.  I think of people who go under the knife to keep their appearance young and beautiful. They love themselves.  Zillah, the second wife of Lamech, her name means defense (to guard, protect); shade or shadow, to shade as an opaque object, beginning to dark, as twilight, hovering over; a phantom. (fig.) an illusion (ghost), resemblance, a representative (figure), especially an idol, vain show, worship and demon possession, her name also means to sink (sinkholes), tumble down, settle by a waving motion,vibrations. (earthquakes?).  Jabal, Adah's son, his name means stream,to flow, to bring carry, lead, dwelt in tents  and had cattle, blast with a horn, jubilee (continuous sound),  Jubal, Jabal's brother, his name means the same as his brother, but he lead with musical instruments like the harp and pipes., not cattle.  He will do and teach with pump (ceremonial), and the signal. Tubal-Cain, Zillah's son, means offspring of Cain, his number is the same as Cain, and he teaches how to make brass and iron of every craft, musical instruments, and spears for war.  Naamah, daughter of Zillah, her name means pleasantness, splendor, grace, to be agreeable in beauty, be sweet.

    Demons are teaching mankind just as they did  seven- thousand- years -ago.  And like in Lot's day there is now homosexuality and evilness like what Paul says in  the Book of Romans 1:24-27.  Today, believe it or not, homosexuality is not quite as rampant as it was in Lot's day, but it will be like in the days of Lot one day, because Jesus said it would.  Though we may end up with same- sex- marriages (we have since this was originally written) it doesn't mean that God will accept this practice. He won't, He will give them up.  

Now what about the planting?  What will we plant?  In Leviticus 19:19. God says first, "You shall keep My statutes (which is interesting).  Then God says, "Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse (different) kind;  thou shalt not sow  thy field with mingled (mixed) seed; neither shall a garment mingle of linen and woolen come upon thee." The Jews kept God's statutes at first, even the Gentiles. Then man intentionally mated a horse and a donkey together, producing a mule. Some may have protested. Today we don't even think twice about this sin. Also the mule cannot reproduce.  Just like two men can't reproduce nor can two women reproduce.   Man does not think about what God says in his Word.  

So now I thought what has man planted?  And what does planting mean?  This planting in the New Greek Dictionary means to implant or figuratively means, instill doctrine.  This is probably a false doctrine because man is doing the planting, not God.  Jesus says in Matthew 24:7, there will be pestilences.  This word also means wide-spread dangerous harmful doctrine, influences, and chaos, along with plagues.  The word mingled in Leviticus 19:19 means in the Hebrew Old Testament Dictionary, separation, as in two different heterogeneity, not similar.  Like a tiger and a monkey, or more than two different species. Today they have produced milk with spider silk, and people drink it. Man has taken viruses from animals and joined them to human viruses. Man has taken a ewe (female) sheep ovum (egg), scrapes out the inside, then places  a fertilized female egg of a woman into the scraped out ewe egg; then takes that fertilized sheep egg and places it into a woman's uterus.  Will she have a healthy baby?  I don't know only God knows. Read His Word, what does Lev. 19:19 say? We Christians say nothing about a mule; nothing about a test- tube baby, nothing about in vitro-fertilization.  Yet God says "thou shalt not." 

  

    Jesus said man will do all these things: eating, drinking, buying, selling, marrying, building,and planting. This is why we who are believers, find it very difficult to live in this world, praying that Jesus would come and take us home.  He will, first He has to finish building his house in heaven.  Then He will snatch us up faster than lightning,Luke 17:24.  But remember, then comes the judgment upon the earth. Woe to all mankind who are left behind.
