Troubles~ Mark 13:8 June 29,2020

We are in the book of Mark, chapter 13:8 at our church, should we start next Sunday.  So, I decided to read and study it.  I get to  Mark 13:8 and I read, "For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be earthquakes in divers [various] places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows."  I have read this verse many times; mostly out of Matthew 24:7.  I don't remember the word troubles.  So, I went back to the book of Matthew 24:7.   Matthew has the word pestilence instead of troubles.  I then went to the book of Luke 21:11, this is where it gets interesting; start with verse 10.  "Then said He [Jesus] unto them [disciples], Nation (#1484 & #1486 meaning ethnic, race, that is a tribe, specifically a foreign (non-Jewish one), Gentile heathen nation people) shall rise against nation (same as #1484 & 1486), and kingdom against kingdom; And great earthquakes shall be in divers [different] places, and famines, and pestilences [troubles]; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven."
Luke adds more information and details to look up in the Strong's Concordance, and the Webster's Dictionaries: fearful sights, great signs;  all coming from heaven.  Now I have to look up the meanings of all these words: fearful sights; great signs; heaven; and troubles

The numbers referenced below & above are for the Greek Translation/Definition of the words in the Strong's Concordance:

Fearful Sights has two numbers, 5399,and 5400.   Both of these words mean: a frightening thing, i.e. terrific potent with a powerful mighty force, to be in awe of, revere, exceedingly afraid, reverence.

Great has the numbers, 3173, 3176, and 3187; it means;  mega, big, exceedingly great, large, high, loud, mighty, strong, greatest or very great.

Signs has the number 4591. It means: a mark: to indicate;-signify, to make known, it is the same as in Genesis 1:14, signs as in a signal. (That verse makes up another Just Thinking I wrote, I can share later.)

Heaven, it has the number 3772, it means:  the idea of elevation, the sky (as the abode of God); by implying happiness, power, eternity; specifically the Gospel (Christianity):-air; heavenly sky.

Troubles, the numbers are, 5015 and 5016.  It means: to stir or agitate as in roil water, disturb or to stir and bring up sediment; disturbance, i.e. or (of a  mob), sedition, which I looked this word up in the Webster's Dictionary; It means, incitement of discontent, or rebellion against a government, rebellious disorder, mutiny, treason.

Hmmmm!  Has the world gone into another birth pain?

As I studied these words, I can truly see ethnic groups against ethnic groups in our nation and around the world.  Is this the troubles in Mark 13:8?  Mobs being agitated; incited, rebellious disorder, against the laws of the land.  There is a force behind this incitement. Satan has an evil demonic force. He may be powerful, but not as powerful as our LORD and SAVIOR, Jesus.  Jesus said there would be a sign (a mark) to indicate the beginning of these fearful sights; signs from heaven.  That word heaven speaks of the Gospel, and Jesus said the Gospel must be preached among the nations. Matthew 24:14 says, that this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all of the world for a witness unto the nations; then comes the end.  There is also a great mighty force, possibly loud and from the sky.  Is this the description of the rapture?  The list of troubles in Matthew, Mark and Luke are in order: earthquakes, famines (not just of food, but also of the Word of God), pestilence (not just plagues, but also harmful doctrine and influence).  And that was just the beginning of sorrows in Matthew 24:8.  Now you can't offend anyone. You have false preachers, blatant sin is abound.  People don't blush anymore. There is less and less love in the world, yet, the world speaks of peace. People don't know how to love because there is no god; they are god.  People today that do not know the true God, will never have the love that Jesus speaks of, unless they repent, turn from their sinful ways, and ask Jesus to come into their life.  The world has grown cold. The birth pains are becoming unbearable.  Jesus says in Matthew 24:13, " But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."  I believe this means, we who believe in Jesus will be raptured off this earth to be with Him, then those who are saved during the tribulation  period, and at the end of the tribulation period, Jesus will come down again from the clouds and save those who cry out, "Blessed is He that cometh in the name of the LORD".  Luke 13:35
So we who are saved, are to be watching and praying; doing the work of the Lord; not sleeping. This virus, the shutdown, and violent protesting should have woken you up.  I do hope so.  We are not to be of this world.
