Halloween October 5 , 2020

 

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

     

 

    I have never written about Halloween in any of my Just Thinking journals but I have studied a little bit about this occult holiday over the years.  Halloween probably goes back farther than 59-51 BC with the Celtic's and their pagan priests known as the Druids of Ireland, Scotland, France and Britain. Archaeologists are still finding Stonehenge's or stone circles all over Europe. They think they are roughly around 4000 to 5000 years old. And if so, that would take Halloween back to the period after the flood. The name Druid comes from the Gaelic language and means the knower of the oak tree. The Celts were fierce, uncivilized, wicked, violent  nomadic people. Even the Romans couldn't beat them. These people may have been worse than the Ninevites who Jonah hated because of their wicked and violent lifestyle.

    This is one belief on how the Druids practiced Halloween or what they call the Festival of Samhain (pronounced, sa win); it was a three-night festival to celebrate the end of the harvest season and the beginning of the darker half of the year, from October 29th to the 31st. November 1st would start their New Year. The Druid priests would probably call it a ceremony, and it was a way to end the year and start a new year with human sacrifices to their pagan gods. The priests would have the soldiers go out, about a week before the festival would begin, to collect a lot of wicker reeds. The people would take these reeds and make a hollow straw man of about 25 feet or higher, with three levels putting wicker cages on each level. They also made extra cages in case they needed them (If the mention of a giant wicker man makes the notorious "Burning Man Festival" held in the desert of Nevada each year come to mind it should.) Then the priest and soldiers would go out all over the countryside knocking on the doors of the rich estates and wealthy merchants, calling out "TRICK OR TREAT!".

    Now back at the Stonehenge where the festival would be held, the people are making up a brew of an apple cider beverage which they will put in a large black cauldron or pot, lighting a fire under it. The Priest and the soldiers would be out there walking over the countryside for hours knocking on doors. When the Lord of the Manor opened the door the priest would ask for a member of his household or a servant. If the homeowner gave the priest a person, in return the priest would give the Lord of the Manor a treat; a hollowed out pumpkin, turnip or gourd filled with human fat, which he would place near the Lord's door lighting the fat inside the pumpkin. That would be the Lord of the Manor's treat. Now if the Lord of the Manor refused to give the priest a person from out of his home, the Priest would then paint a hexagram with a circle around it, with blood from a dead man's arm from a bucket of blood that they brought with them. This was the trick. The Druids believed that when a person was given the pumpkin it would keep the dead souls and demons from visiting the estate. I guess it's like the Passover in the book of Exodus, where the angel of death would pass over the houses that had lamb's blood across the doorpost (Remember Satan is a liar and a deceiver and will devise all manner of wicked ways to counterfeit or distort Gods genuine miracles.). The six pointed hexagram with a circle around it is the most powerful satanic hex you can place on a person; which allows the dead spirits of people and demons to enter the house and terrorize them or enter the people's souls.

    October 29th through the 31st is supposed to be the time that the Druids believe that the veil between the spirit world and the real world is at its thinnest and the dead spirits can come out of their graves and visit their loved ones.  They also believe the demons could get out of hell through crossroads, and portals of the occult spiritual world. The occult crossroads and  portals deal with magic, witchcraft and the underworld. A crossroad is a point or junction on earth where the dead spirits can leave the underworld through a force of energy. It is said from where the waves meet the beach, or a three or four way intersection, usually having a grove of oak trees or hedges near it. A portal is an unseen vortex that connects two places through time, space and dimensions, sometimes called a gateway or doorway.  A portal is where non physical beings like angels and demons can come through. CERN, a Hadron collider in Geneva, Switzerland is said to be a portal.

    The Druid priest or shaman used magic, witchcraft and sacrifices to allow these demonic places to be opened. They have no control of the demons or the dead if they should happen to come out of their graves or portal. This is why the priests would make scary ugly masks and put occult symbols on their robes; to disguise themselves from the demons, and where we get the idea of wearing masks and costumes. Back then it was not the homeowner giving out a treat when children came to their door shouting trick or treat. And it wasn't kids throwing toilet paper or egging your house or car when they didn't get a treat. 

    Once the Druids finished going around the countryside, they would take their treats of men, women, children,  the sick and criminals load them into hay lined carts and take them back to the Stonehenge. Some would be put in the wicker cages and as many as possible in the Wickerman. 

 

    This is where the festival would really begin. The priest would have the soldiers bring out about twelve people stand them in a line in front of the caldron filled with the now boiling apple cider. They are told that if they can get the apple that the priest throws into the cauldron with their teeth, then they would be set free. If they came up out of the boiling apple cider without the apple between their teeth, they would be thrown down on the ground and be beheaded on the spot. If they said no, those people also had their heads chopped off. The Wickerman with all the people in it would be burned alive as a human sacrifice to their pagan Lord of the dead. Also the priests would eat the flesh of their sacrifices. This is probably where the thousands of bones archaeologists have found buried at Stonehenge sites, all across Europe, in cities like Wittshire, where the famous Stonehenge is, and Avebury, one of the largest Stonehenge's in Britain came from. 

    Those who say we celebrate the Fall Festival with parties (including today's churches), and we don't go out trick or treating; well the Celts and peasants that lived too far from places like Wittshire and Avebury where they had priests to perform the ceremony, would set up a temporary Stonehenge; go out trick or treating, bring back those people and sacrifice them. The only difference between Halloween (Samhain)  and the Fall Festival was the Fall Festival ceremony didn't have a priest.

     In a way, the practice of Halloween is an oath (oth), a promise or vow; a pledge you make to something or someone.  In this case it is not God or Jesus that people are vowing to, it is Satan who they want to appear or come back. When you truly give your life over to Jesus and trade the workings of darkness and evil for the light of the world, you do not have to wear masks and costumes nor do you want to disguise yourself from Him. "For everyone that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. (you have to repent).  But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."  John 3:20-21.  All Hollow's Eve is still practiced all over the world.  Satanists say Halloween is the beginning of their New Year. Satan and his demons give them power. For the Christian and the churches especially, if we know where these "traditions" originate from and that they have everything to do with demonic forces and the worship of Satan even to this day (Just look at the decorations for Halloween and the Movies circulating all month in October by your cable provider.) What does that evil and darkness have to do with Jesus Christ? In the Book of Ephesians 5:11 Gods Word tells us "11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather [a]expose them."  Were also told we have to live in the world while we are here,  but not to be of the world . Were supposed to remain separate from them so they know us by our fruit and the way we live can be a witness to the goodness of the Father in Heaven. How will unbelievers recognize us as different if we are blending in with them and hypocritically practicing Satan's holidays?  It doesn't make sense. If you consider yourself a Bible believing follower of the all mighty Jehovah God, come away from this satanic holiday, start preparing your household for His soon return. Make this a night you spend with your family studying scripture and worshiping the true God instead of the god of this world.

B=Believe in Jesus, Romans 5:8 tells us God shows how much he loves us in while we still are sinners Christ still died for us. 

C=Call on the name of Jesus to save you from your sins, Romans 10:13 tells us all who call on the name of the Lord will be saved.
