Prejudice - June 23,2020

The unrest in the United States, the tearing down of the statues of Christopher Columbus, and other men in our history books; white men who owned black men, and wrote down the laws of this nation hundreds of years ago, won't solve the problems of prejudice .        Prejudice comes from the heart. Wanting to protest and burn down businesses, churches, breaking windows, killing and injuring people makes you become like the people whom you say aren't worthy to have a statute.  It will not stop people from loving their great heroes from the past. "I Can't Breathe" slogans won't stop the prejudice.       I listened to a man, Dr. Victor Clay, a pastor/ missionary who went to speak at my niece's church at Central Baptist Church, in Syracuse, NY, on  the Multicultural Church, and the Christian Mindset in a Turbulent World.  He talks about the organized Christian church today...

All You Need- Ephesians 3:20 January 6, 2020

I heard a pastor give a sermon on Ephesians 3:20.  "Now unto him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us."  I broke this passage down using the Strong's Concordance and Hebrew/Greek Dictionaries.  In this verse the Strong's Concordance/ Greek Dictionary uses the word exceeding, not exceedingly.  The number is 5228.  I first found out that exceeding and the word above use the same number, and abundantly does not have a number.  So I think those three words are connected and have the same meaning.  So their definition means: straightforward, right, uprightness, integrity, equitable.     Now back to my Just Thinking and this sermon.  This pastor's sermon was about the words exceedingly and abundantly.  He will go to the letter Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need."  The pastor said all your needs, and said it thro...

Pestilence ~ March 20, 2004

Why Pestilence?  I  opened  my Bible, in it was a piece of paper with the definition of the word pestilence.  I thought of Matthew 24 :7.  The definition of pestilence is:  1. Any widespread infectious malady,2. A dangerous or harmful doctrine, influence, etc.  Interesting. The word pestilence is not just a disease or plague of illnesses. In today's world we have all kinds of doctrine, and what scares me  most is the influences of  tolerance, and high self-esteem. These pestilences are in the church today. I just heard Dr. Dobson on the radio talking about Christians having low self-esteem, and a man on his show wrote a book about husbands helping their wives battling with low self-esteem. I turned the radio off, because God says that Christians should be humble, meek, not have a high self-esteem all throughout the Bible (Proverbs 15:33, 16:19, Isaiah 57:15, I Peter 5:5-9, to name a few places).    ...

The Days: Luke 17:22-32 January 9, 2008

And as it was in the days of Noah,so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man." Luke 17:26 "Also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat; they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built;" Luke 17:28      The Son of man. It's been over 2000 years or around 722,880 days of the Son of man.  We are surely eating and drinking. We are a rich nation.  A lot of the world is rich.   Watching Wall Street, especially around the Christmas holidays; we are surely buying and selling.  Housing and city developments are springing up everywhere.  And to see a tree or two in a city; even in some suburbs are rare.  You have to go outside of your neighborhood to enjoy nature.  But who has the time?  Most of these two verses started roughly around sixty-years-ago.  But Luke 17:22 says, "...the days will come, when ye shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and ye shall not see it."...

Israel Has Not Been Replaced, The Book of Jeremiah 4/12/2006

First, the land of Israel belongs to God, not man.  Jeremiah 2:7, "And  I brought you (Israel) into a plentiful country, to eat its fruit and its goodness, but when ye entered, ye defiled  My land,  and made mine heritage an abomination. " In the first three chapters of Jeremiah, God pleads with Israel and Judah; to repent of their idolatrous lifestyle.  Jeremiah 3:14-17 says " Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married  unto you; and   I will  take you one of a city, and two of a family, and   I will  bring you to Zion; 15 And   I will   give you pastors, according to mine heart, who shall feed  you with knowledge and understanding.  16 And it shall come to pass, when ye are multiplied and increased in the land (Israel) in those days, saith the LORD, they shall say no more, the ark of the covenant of  the LORD; neither shall they visit it, neith...
